A rarely offered perennial from the USA which is not too dissimilar in leaf to an Aquilegia. Being completely evergreen, this american perennial flowers in spring, the foliage is quite pinnate and each leaflet is around 2 cms wide, rich-green in colour. Flowers are white and hang pendulosly from the upper parts of the stems. Maybe a little slower growing than V. hexandra but no too slow. Excellent ground cover in time.
