These are really attractive alpine plants which do best in a little shade through the midday.
Essentially evergreen leaves are pale green at first but soon darken down to their more usual deep green as they mature. They are rounded to heart shaped and held individually on petioles to 1 cm long which rise directly from the rootstock. In early spring the flowers are produced, these are pale lavender purple in colour and held singly, each with a frilly edge, again rising directly from the rootstock, numerous flowers are produced from each plant. This is the smallest of the Soldanellas we are currently offering.
