A robust but very dwarf evergreen perennial with rich green spear shaped leaves held very much erect. Each leaf arises from a swollen horizontal rhizome in mid spring. This species reaches a height of around 20 cms in height.
Flowers are held on short stems, each bearing one or two flowers and lasting for several weeks each. Colour is a rich deep purple with a white or yellowish honey mark.
Easy in a moist but well drained soil and ideal proportions for a trough or sink garden.
