An attractive addition to the woodland garden or shady area where the white flowers will lighten up the area for weeks.
Foliage is deep green and deeply serrated but with quite broad lobes like A. obtusiloba although the whole plant is larger. Flower stems rise in early summer each with several flowers. Colour is clean white and each last for around two weeks although many flowers are produced.
This species is from North America where it grows in grassy areas and thickets and so is good for naturalising. Spreading by runners, it can fill a large space but isn't invasive, lifting and dividing is the quickest method of filling larger areas.
